I’m throwing a paranormal pajama party – and you’re invited!
Hi! 👋 I’m Steph, and I’m a horror fan with a radical belief that women are people.
What does it say about society that so many monsters and ghosts appear in female forms? On Paranormal Pajama Party, I’m seeking the answers, providing (hopefully) insightful examinations of the social and cultural contexts behind myths and legends featuring female-coded villains.
Each episode of the Paranormal Pajama Party podcast features a creepy story about a female phantom or femme fatale. But that’s not all – we’re on a mission to unearth the social and cultural contexts behind these ghoulish gals, challenging the often one-dimensional portrayal of women in horror.
Where can I listen to the podcast?

Join our spooky slumber party as we challenge stereotypes and explore the depth of horror from an intersectional feminist perspective, amplifying the voices of the spectral and the living alike.
What’s up with this website?
I got really into researching each of these episodes. Maybe too into researching them.
I hope to use the show notes to better share episode transcripts, as well as all the fascinating sources I found for each episode.
Occasionally, I also highlight some of the amazing things I learned along the way that just didn’t fit into the stories.
